Reproduction on dairies can have a large impact on performance and profit. Approximately 40% of cows that conceive lose their embryos between 8 and 17 days of pregnancy. This is caused by the action of prostaglandins on the developing corpus luteum. Conceive contains omega fatty acids (DHA & EPA) that have been shown to improve embryo survival in the first month of pregnancy by suppressing prostaglandins (Figure 1).

 

By suppressing the circulating prostaglandins, omega fatty acids allow development of the corpus luteum and preservation of the embryo (Figure 2).

The omega fatty acids DHA and EPA are provided in Conceive through a source of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids (PUFA), which is provided in Conceive at a level to support fertility.

Organic Trace Minerals
Essential for good reproductive efficiency, the organic form of trace mineral have been shown to be more available to the cow, which mean she can utilize a higher percent of the trace minerals supplied.

Selenium Yeast
Associated with antioxidant activity, including fertility, udder health and immunity.

Vitamin E
An additional 500 units are supplied per day.

Begin feeding three weeks prior to breeding and continue feeding through 60 days of pregnancy.

Feed to lactating dairy cattle according to your individually balanced ration. The recommended feeding rate is 3.0 lbs per head per day.

Additional trace minerals and vitamins should be offered.
