Profile

STOCKMASTER® Fescue-Max C2800 Mineral is designed to help cattle get the maximum benefit out of fescue pasture. It consists of a unique blend of ingredients including glucomannans and Tasco®.

About the Product

Fescue Grazing
Fescue toxicity has long been a problem for producers grazing tall fescue pastures that are endophyte infected. The endophyte is a fungus that doesn’t harm the plant but produces toxins harmful to livestock. Clinical signs of fescue toxicity can include increased body temperature, lower feed intake, rapid breathing, weight loss, lower milk production and lower pregnancy rates.

Glucomannans
Regular consumption of glucomannans, part of the inner cell wall of yeast, have been shown to have a positive effect for cows grazing fescue pasture. In a study completed by the University of Kentucky, body condition score was increased (P<.05) and body temperature was decreased (P<.05) compared to cattle consuming no glucomannans.

Tasco®
Tasco is a seaweed plant found off the coast of Nova Scotia. It is known to be a good source of cytokinin, which is a plant growth regulator.

Chlortetracycline
Chlortetracycline is included in STOCKMASTER® Fescue-Max C2800 Mineral at the rate of 2,800 grams per ton which will provide 350 mg per head per day.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is included at the rate of 1,000 IU per pound to support immune function.

Copper
Copper and selenium deficiencies are often found in beef cattle grazing fescue. STOCKMASTER Fescue-Max C2800 Mineral contains elevated levels of copper, zinc and selenium at the proper ratios to meet these trace mineral deficiencies.

Trace Mineral Supplementation
STOCKMASTER Fescue-Max C2800 Mineral is highly fortified with trace minerals that are provided in biologically available forms and in a ratio appropriate for cattle consuming fescue forages.

Phosphorus
STOCKMASTER Fescue-Max C2800 Mineral contains 6.0% phosphorus to supplement phosphorus intake when fescue forages are being fed.

Quality
Hubbard uses the highest standards in choosing ingredients and manufacturing the STOCKMASTER minerals. The fact that Hubbard was the first full line feed manufacturer to be ISO 9001 and HACCP certified is an example of the commitment to quality.  Just like all cattle aren’t the same, neither are all ingredients. Some perform better than others and Hubbard works to give you the right blend of quality ingredients to get you the best return for your money. Better ingredients can mean things like better absorption of minerals and vitamins and this helps get more cows bred and wean more live calves which leads to higher profitability.

Feed cattle 4 ounces of STOCKMASTER Fescue-Max C2800 Mineral per head per day to provide 350 milligrams of Chlortetracycline per head per day.

Early lactation cows may desire more salt than that provided by STOCKMASTER Fescue-Max C2800 Mineral. Offer free-choice loose salt to cows in early lactation.

Provide fresh, clean water at all times.

Note: Individual mineral, trace mineral and vitamin requirements of cattle depend on stage of production (gestation or lactation), size and age of animal. Likewise, the mineral, trace mineral and vitamin content of forages depends on geographical location and stage of forage growth.
