STOCKMASTER® Sweet Phos 4 Altosid are free-choice minerals with Altosid ((S)-Methoprene) insect growth regulator for feed-through fly control.  Feed continuously from thirty days before the last frost in the spring to 30 days after the last frost in the fall to prevent emergence of the adult horn fly from the manure of treated cattle.  These STOCKMASTER formulas are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), allowing Hubbard Feeds and its dealers to floor stock and distribute these products where state registrations have been completed.

About the Product

STOCKMASTER Sweet Phos 4 Altosid is fortified with minerals and vitamins to supplement cattle grazing summer pastures, or can be fed in a mixed ration control the adult horn fly in confinement.  STOCKMASTER Sweet Phos 4 Altosid is an economical mineral to supplement cow-calf pairs, replacement heifers, yearling and backgrounding steers on pasture.  The product is designed to be consumed at 4 ounces per head daily.  Provide as the sole source of salt and mineral to achieve targeted intake and effective fly control.

Feeding Directions

# 50748 STOCKMASTER Sweet Phos 4 Altosid
When used as directed, STOCKMASTER Sweet Phos 4 Altosid will provide sufficient S-methoprene insect growth regulator to prevent the emergence of adult horn flies from manure of treated cattle. Existing adult horn flies will not be affected. Start feeding before horn flies appear and continue use until cold weather marks the end of the horn fly season. Allow free choice to cattle. Cattle should consume an average of 0.4 ounces of this product per 100 lbs of bodyweight per day, which is equivalent to 4 ounces per day for a 1000-lb. animal.

  1. Assure cattle are not starved for nutrients in STOCKMASTER Sweet Phos 4 Altosid by providing them prior to feeding STOCKMASTER Sweet Phos 4 Altosid.
  2. Offer cattle 50 pounds for every 15 head of cattle.
  3. Remove all other self-limiting nutritional supplements.
  4. Locate STOCKMASTER Sweet Phos 4 Altosid where cattle congregate (watering, loa?ng, shade areas).
  5. Replenish STOCKMASTER Sweet Phos 4 Altosid on a regular basis as needed.
  6. If intake of STOCKMASTER Sweet Phos 4 Altosid is below 0.4 oz. per 100 lbs. animal body weight per day, increase the number of feeding locations and/or change locations to areas more frequented by cattle.
  7. If intake of STOCKMASTER Sweet Phos 4 Altosid is above 0.4 oz. per 100 lbs. animal body weight per day, reduce the number of feeding locations and/or change locations to areas less frequented by cattle.
  8. Introduction of this product after adult horn fly infestation is established will require treatment of cattle with adulticides if elimination of the adult fly population is desired.
Caution

These products, which contains added copper, should not be fed to sheep or related species that have a low tolerance level to copper.
