CTC (chlortetracycline) 4G Crumbles, CTC 8G Crumbles, and CTC 10G Crumbles are to be mixed into ruminant rations to aid in the prevention and treatment of many livestock diseases.
Why Use CTC Crumbles?
CTC (chlortetracycline) is a broad spectrum antibiotic with a variety of feeding levels for use in beef cattle, non-lactating dairy cattle, and sheep. When fed as directed, CTC Crumbles will improve daily gain and feed efficiency; reduce liver condemnations due to abscesses; control bacterial pneumonia associated with shipping fever complex caused by Pasteurella spp.; and treat bacterial enteritis caused by Escherichia coli and bacterial pneumonia caused by Pasteurella multicida organisms.
In sheep CTC will increase the rate of weight gain and improve feed efficiency, and reduce the incidence of (vibrionic) abortion caused by Campylobacter fetus infection.
When To Use CTC Crumbles
Feed CTC Crumbles at the level recommended to obtain the desired performance and to aid in the prevention and reduction of various disease problems.
Using the tables below, mix at these rates with complete feed to produce the desired milligrams per pound of chlortetracycline for the following indications of use for cattle. Provide fresh, clean drinking water at all times.
BEEF CATTLE
Feed 350 mg/head/day for the CONTROL of bacterial pneumonia, associated with shipping fever complex caused by Pasteurella ssp. susceptible to Chlortetracycline.

SHEEP
CTC Crumbles can be fed to sheep. To improve growth and feed efficiency, feed 20.0 to 50.0 grams per ton (5.0 to 12.5 pounds of CTC 4G Crumbles per ton) of complete feed. To help reduce incidence of vibrionic abortion caused by Campylobacter fetus infection susceptible to chlortetracycline, feed 80.0 milligrams per head daily continuously during pregnancy (1.0 pound CTC 4G Crumbles per 50 head sheep).
Federal law restricts medicated feed containing this veterinary feed directive (VFD) drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
